What are Indicator Logs?

The Indicator Logs feature in OpenApply enables users to systematically record and monitor key engagement activities—such as calls, walk-ins, and meetings. With customizable Log Types and Outcomes, this tool provides valuable insights into how these interactions influence enrollment trends and outcomes.

How to utilize Indicator Logs?

  1. To begin using this feature, please navigate to Settings > CRM Preferences > Indicator Logs and start by creating common activities as Log Types within the system. OpenApply provides a set of default Log Types—such as calls, walk-ins, meetings, and interviews—but you can add additional types as needed to suit your institution’s specific processes.
  1. For each Log Type, you can define a set of potential outcomes. For example, the Log Type "Calls" might include outcomes such as "Interested," "Not Answered," or "Not Interested.

  1. Once you have configured your custom Log Types and Outcomes, you can begin adding logs directly within a contact, applicant, or student profile on the Indicator Log tab, to document interactions with your school. For each log entry, you can select a Log Type and provide detailed information about the activity, including the date, outcome, staff member involved, and any relevant notes.

  1. On the CRM roster and Contacts roster, you may filter by a certain indicator log.

This functionality can also be leveraged across other features within the system. For example, you can use indicator log to be criteria when you create an Email Campaign or an Internal Notification.

You can also add indicator log as a scoring factor when configuring for the Lead Scoring feature.
