Connect or Update Stripe Integration
This guide explains how to connect Stripe or migrate from the legacy Stripe integration to Stripe Connect.
Who Must Complete This Setup
- A school official with access to OpenApply payment settings
- The same person must have access to the school’s Stripe account credentials
- This is a one-time setup per school
All previous transactions remain available. Payment processing continues as normal after setup.
Migration for Schools Already Using Stripe
- Navigate to Settings → Payments → Payments Methods → Credit Card → Stripe
- Click the link to be taken to your Stripe integrations page.
3. Click Connect Account to initiate the process.
4. Log-in to your Stripe account using the school’s Stripe credentials.
If already logged into Stripe, this step will be skipped.
5. Select the Stripe account to associate with OpenApply.
For migrating schools, please select the same Stripe account already used with OpenApply.
6. Complete the authorisation process
7. OpenApply will display a success confirmation page
Payments continue to function exactly as before.
Setup for Schools Using Stripe for the First Time

Navigate directly to:
Settings → Integrations → Stripe - Initialise the Stripe connection via Connect Account.
- Follow the prompts to log-in and authorise your Stripe account as per the above guide.

Once configuration is complete, no further configuration is required.
Your school can now process payments through Stripe.

- Credentials are managed directly by Stripe
- Reduced security risk
- Historical data remains unchanged
Important Policy Information
The legacy Stripe API token integration will be deprecated once migration is complete across schools.
Migration is recommended as soon as possible to ensure that new transactions continue to process through a more secure channel.

No. The migration process is seamless.
Is there an additional cost?
No additional fees are introduced.
What happens to previous transactions?
All previous transactions and historical financial data will remain securely associated with the school’s account. Schools will not lose access to any past records during or after this migration.
How to disconnect Stripe?
Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Stripe and click Revoke Account.
