Introduction

It is possible to integrate your OpenApply and Zenda accounts, so that parents can make OpenApply payments via Zenda.
This tutorial is divided into two parts to explain how to integrate and use Zenda with OpenApply

Integration
First, the school needs to perform a one-time configuration that will enable Zenda payments directly through OpenApply. Please note the critical step at number 3.
1. Obtain the following three items from Zenda:
- Client ID
- Client Secret
- Domain
- Currency setting in Zenda
2. In OpenApply, navigate to Settings > Payments > Payment Methods, enable the Zenda payment method, and enter the values into the corresponding boxes. All three are required:
3. If you have not already configured payments in your OpenApply account, you will first need to set-up your payment settings, as explained here. It is critical that OpenApply's billing currency is the same as Zenda's currency setting.
Note on billing currency
In this integration flow, OpenApply sends the amount due to Zenda, and the currency applied to that amount is decided by Zenda's configuration. This is why it is very important to ensure that OpenApply's billing currency and Zenda's currency settings are identical.
Support
Once the integration is complete and payments have been set up, the following support will be available to schools:
- A charge log will be available in the left panel of your main OpenApply dashboard, below the Payments dashboard. All future transactions will be displayed there, with ability to search and filter.
- Schools can use the Zenda App will also give additional transaction information directly within the dashboard of your Zenda account.
- The OpenApply charge log "Transaction ID" can be matched to Zenda's Transaction ID to identify the same transaction.
The charge log will display details about the charges that can be used for cross-checking, confirmation, and reconciliation, if necessary. The log includes transaction ID used by Zenda, as well as all currency information, amount due, and other metadata.
Payment
On the parent side, after selecting Zenda as the payment method, parents can follow this process to complete the payment.
1. Once the parent reaches the end of the form that has payment enabled, according to the payment methods enabled by your school in the payment settings, the parents can directly choose their preferred payment method to complete the payment here.
2. Zenda provides users with two different payment methods, which OpenApply has no role in configuring—this is handled via Zenda's configuration. Parents are presented with a screen similar to this when confirming payment:
