Respond to a family's request to delete their data
Families may ask the school to delete their data, and schools need to remove records they no longer need. This guide explains what you can delete yourself and when to involve our support team.
Delete a single record
- Open the profileFind the student or parent and open their profile.
- Delete itSelect the pencil icon, then Delete. Deleted records cannot be recovered, so export anything you must keep first.
- Clear up orphaned parentsGo to Families > Orphaned Parents to find parent accounts that are no longer linked to a student, and delete them if they are no longer needed.
Delete many records
- Export the IDsThere is no bulk delete button. Export the list of records you want removed, including their IDs.
- Send the CSV to supportSubmit a request with the CSV attached and confirm that the school has approved the deletion.
⚠️ Important
Check your school's retention policy before deleting. Some records, such as enrolment and payment history, may need to be kept for a set period.
💡 Tip
Keep a short log of each request: who asked, what was deleted and when. It makes it easier to answer follow-up questions from families or auditors.
