Transitioning years can be done for any student after they have confirmed Re-Enrolment. Students who have declined Re-Enrolment can be transitioned to Graduated or Withdrawn.
Important note: Schools using OpenApply integrated with ManageBac should first complete Step 1 of ManageBac transition to generate reports on ManageBac, then transition OpenApply by following the steps below, before completing the remaining ManageBac transition steps.
If you have not yet entered re-enrolment decisions for your students, then you can first follow the instructions here.
If you do not already process re-enrolment through OpenApply, it is first necessary to configure re-enrolment preferences.
You can set a re-enrolment date in the past, when doing so, and re-enrolment will not be visible for parents.
After you have entered re-enrolment decisions for all of your students, it is best to transition students in bulk. Once transitioned, the Grade level of any students who have confirmed re-enrolment will automatically change to the grade that they are re-enrolling for, which is the next grade up, by default. The Enrolment Year of the student will always remain the same, as this refers to the academic year when they initially joined the school.
You should bulk transition all graduating students first, since they will not be automatically moved to Graduated during the transition. Navigate to the Students Roster and Filter your students for the Grade level that will be graduating. Next click the Edit button.
Navigate to the Students Roster and click Transition Years.
Select the Academic Year that you are transitioning to in the top right corner. All students will automatically be selected.
